City advises of critical electricity upgrades in N2 gateway, Langa

The City advises residents of parts of Langa of an upcoming critical electricity supply interruption for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, which will be carried out on Thursday, 14 May 2026. The area impacted includes the N2 gateway area and surrounds. To view the area outage map visit: https://bit.ly/4wn2gVm. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out.

It is important to note that the interruption to supply will only impact the areas on the map and only on the relevant date. The work will be carried out from 08:00 until 18:00, if all goes to plan. The maintenance will be carried out on:

• Thursday, 14 May 2026 from 08:00 to 18:00

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
